By Bob Maffit
Hey! I am back! I am sure some of you may be thinking, “OH, NO!” Never the less, here I am! I am going to talk about something that many of you may, or may not, want to hear. Here we go! We are not finished with this subject of, “Rapture! Caught Up! Gathering Together!” There is a lot about it that you need to know, and understand. Right now, I have to say I am sorry this is over 12 pages, and there will be more parts, but the subject requires it.
We discussed in the last few parts of this series that we were wrong in making the assumption that the 23rd of September was thee day of the Rapture. We made other assumptions based on Hebrew Feasts. We see now that we were not right, even though so many are using the Hebrew feasts as a reference point, or calendar. I have seen so many predictions of Christ coming in the last few months since the Great Sign in September. In October, November, and December of 2017, and even January 2018, there have been predictions, or signs that many people have used to tells us when they think Christ is appearing for his Body/the Church. They have used the Feasts, the Jubilee Year of the modern Israel, the late barley harvest of 2017 in Israel, a conference 100 years ago, the war in Israel in 1967, and even the birthday of the current U.S.A.’s President. Sorry folks, but by the time we get done with this series you will learn some things about the Israel of today that shows they are not of the One True God. Please do not stop reading, because I will back this all up with Scripture.
Also, we are going to look at why, myself, and others, have been saying that these star signs are the event, which we now know they are the ANNOUNCEMENT of the coming event, and NOT the event itself! Many people have read books by Victor Paul Wierwille, and others, where the birth of Christ is said to have taken place on September 11th, 3 B.C., but we are going to show you why that is IMPOSSIBLE! I hope you are prepared to change your way of thinking, because we have, and we are going to, show you much that we have studied. Before we get into the heart of all of this, please, bear with us, because you may be wondering why He is showing all what He is showing us. Please believe me, as I am not going to take you on a rabbit trail, but take you into directions of the Truth of God’s Word, and to prove many points.
Review Worth Reading
We are going to do some review, so that you can know that these things are solid Truths from the Word of God! I will only cover the main points. In Part One, I shared some verses stating, “the sun stopped shining,” for a three hour period. Here are those verses.
Luke 23:44–46 (NIV)
44 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
From our study of eclipses, we know that was not what is was, and that either it was a planet which went between the earth and the sun, or God did that Himself. Look at the following verse, and you will see.
Job 9:7 (NIV)
He [God] speaks to the sun and it does not shine; he [God] seals off the light of the stars.
This next verse below is important to understanding that the lights [sun, moon, and stars, which includes the planets] are for signs. This section of Scripture is the figure of speech, Polysyndeton [meaning, “Many-ands”]. Many modern translations take out the, “many ands,” and without the ands, making it read, “…let them be for signs, for seasons, for days, and years.”
Genesis 1:14 (KJV)
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
We then covered the next verses.
Genesis 1:15–18 (KJV)
15 And let them [the sun, moon, and stars] be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them [the sun, moon, and stars] in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
God set them in the heavens! We were told not to bow down to the sun, moon, and stars, or worship them.
Deuteronomy 4:19 (NIV)
And when you look up to the sky [most versions read, “heaven,” or “heavens”] and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the [article, “the,” not in Hebrew text] LORD [Yahweh] your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.
The last king of Israel [I will be explaining both the nations of Israel, and of Judah before we finish this series] and the people bowed to the stars.
2 Kings 17:16 (NIV)
They forsook all the commands of the LORD [Yahweh] their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal.
The kings of Judah and the people also bowed down [context] to them, and burned incense to them, see below.
2 Kings 23:5 (NIV)
He [Josiah] did away with the pagan priests appointed by the kings of Judah to burn incense on the high places of the towns of Judah and on those around Jerusalem—those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun and moon, to the constellations and to all the starry hosts.
God created the heavens [Gen. 1:1]. God “…made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host,…” [Neh. 9:6]. I could say a bunch, but letting the Bible speak for me!
Romans 1:25 (NIV)
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
So, they all shine, because God made them do that.
Jeremiah 31:35 (NIV)
This is what the LORD [Yahweh] says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—the LORD [Yahweh] Almighty is his name:
So, how did He make them?
Psalm 33:6 (NIV)
By the word of the LORD [Yahweh] were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
Look at what else God did!
Isaiah 45:12 (NIV)
It is I [Yahweh in context] who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled [commanded, or directed, which all fit with the Hebrew] their starry hosts.
He made the earth, stretched out the heavens, and directed their starry hosts. That puts them in the category of His, and He put them where they are!
Psalm 8:3 (NIV)
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars [the sun is a star, in case you did not know that], which you have set in place,
These next two verses show more of God’s involvement. He determined their number, and has a name for each one.
Psalm 147:4 (NIV)
He [the context of Ps. 147 is Yahweh] determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Isaiah 40:26 (NIV)
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Scripture says not one of them is missing, and that contradicts what science teaches. There was a war at one time between God and the Adversary, or Evil One. Lucifer was called, “O morning Star,” and he referred to the stars as, “the stars of God.” Look at these verses.
Isaiah 14:12 and 13 (NIV)
12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.
God’s Arch Enemy Lucifer referred to the stars as, “the stars of God.” So then, that would make the stars, and what they are doing, mean something to God, and they should also mean something to us as well! I do not believe that there is a star or planet, that God does not know its exact location in the heavens, at any moment in time!
A look back at Part Two shows us some of the reasons people believe we cannot know the day, time, and hour; that it will come like a thief in the night, and it is hidden, etc. Well, after those first two articles we lost some people for a reason I had not even considered. Two people I talked to several times a week said they only read the Church Epistles, because those are written to them. One of our staff threw that same thing in my face, and folks, that is garbage. I want to just show you three verses. These first two are the same verse, but from two different versions. People, they are from Romans, one of three doctrinal Church Epistles, so who are they written to?
Romans 15:4 (NIV)
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Romans 15:4 (KJV)
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
The NIV says, “written to teach us,” while the KJV says, “written for our learning,” and no matter how you look at it, everything written in the past, or aforetime [old English for before this time] is to teach us, or for our learning. The book of Romans says those things, and unless I am stupid, I think that would cover everything from Genesis to the Book of Acts. Romans is a doctrinal letter to Christians, and it tells us that, and that should open your mind for this to live for you. Jesus said this:
John 5:39 (KJV)
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
I have really wanted to know what Scriptures testify about Jesus in the Hebrew Scriptures [Old Testament], which is what he was speaking of, because the Christian Scriptures [New Testament] had not yet been written. Also, remember, “All Scripture is God breathed [2 Tim. 3:16].” Folks, the whole Bible is for you to learn!
We saw in Part Two more about the stars [planets]. One thing I would like to add here, is about the planets. People never knew them as anything except, “wandering stars,” until Galileo invented the telescope around 1600 A. D. Therefore, planets are included when we refer to stars! Another thing, you need to know is that every planet in what is referred to as the inner planets, are those we can see with the naked eye [no telescope needed]. We can see Mercury, Venus, and of course the Earth, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Those we cannot see without a telescope are called the outer planets, which are Uranus, Neptune, and it goes back and forth as to whether Pluto, and others, are planets, or planetoids [not a concern for this topic].
God knew from the beginning that the man and women in the Garden of Eden were going to blow it, and a Redeemer would be needed. Look at the first verse in the Bible:
Genesis 1:1 (NIV)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
From a scope of Scripture, we believe every star was placed where God wanted it. Every constellation was there in the beginning, and they tell the story of the Messiah, and the plans his Father had for him. Therefore, the Word of God was written in the stars from the beginning. The record of the coming of a Messiah, his birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension, kingdom, et. al. was [and still is] written in the stars. That is what Job, Abraham, and others, used to learn about God, along with the holy spirit. Remember, there was no written Word until Moses. Moses wrote what God gave him by revelation, and it became the Law [the first five books in the Bible]. Let us look at some problem verses that we covered in Parts One and Two.
Matthew 24:36 (NIV)
“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
This verse and others like it are not referring to the, “Gathering Together [Rapture]”. It and the verses from Luke 21:25–28 KJV covered in, “Part One,” are about one of the judgments for Israel, and about the second coming of Christ to the earth.
This question of not knowing the day or hour [no matter what it is referring to] is simple to understand, because God in His foreknowledge would have known what we today know! Before we go any further, ask yourself this, “Was Jesus talking Jerusalem time?” We do not know. There are many verses which tell us it could be in any time zone. There are twenty four time zones in the world. Read the following verses, because the Lord Jesus left us with these verses, and more. They indicate that the Word was to live in all nations. So, from this, we see that it could be anywhere, any time.
Matthew 28:19a (NIV)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations….
Mark 13:10 (NIV)
And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.
Luke 24:47 (NIV)
and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Those verses are from the Gospels, and there are many like them throughout the Church Epistles, and General Epistles in the Christian Scriptures. I am sure many of you remember this one from Acts, and what the Lord said, shortly before he ascended!
Acts 1:8 (NIV)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
So, no matter what those verses are talking about, if we do not know what time zone he was referring to, we cannot know the day or hour! The Jews rejected the Messiah, and God has made us Christians His chosen people. See this verse:
Acts 15:14 (NIV)
Simon [Peter] has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself.
Think about that! How, “…God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself. I know this is contrary to many of you, in what you have heard, but not contrary to what is read in Scripture! Today, too many think the Jews are God’s chosen people, but even with all the proof in God’s Word, they want to believe the lie. We prove this from Scripture in the two next sections, and then we will come back to reviewing Part Two.
Looking at Israel and Judah
In the Hebrew Scriptures, God was always protecting the believer’s line, so that Christ would be born. Israel was chosen to be God’s people. He called the children of Israel, “my people,” to Moses, when Moses was going to lead them out of slavery in Egypt.
Exodus 3:7 (NIV)
The LORD [Yahweh] said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.
So, they were God’s people! Many Christians today say that the Jews are God’s chosen people, and that it says so in Joshua. But that is not true, it was in Deuteronomy, and the context shows it is Israel, which we will see in a few verses. There was a tribe of Judah, but the people and nation later were called Israel. No nation of people was called Jews until Ezra, which took place after the seventy years of captivity in Babylon. The nation of Judah occurred after the split of Israel and Judah [but the people in Judah were not called Jews until Ezra], and this split happened at the time of Rehoboam [king of Judah] and Jeroboam [king of Israel]. That split happened because Rehoboam did wrong, and became a bad king. Sadly, Jeroboam also did wrong. We will discuss this after I explain a few things. After Moses died, Joshua was exalted in the eyes of Israel [not in the eyes of the Jews or Judah].
Joshua 3:7 (NIV)
And the LORD [Yahweh] said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.
God definitely knew the difference between Israel and Judah, and in this verse above, He could have said, “Judah,” or “Jews,” but did not. He called them what they were at the time, “Israel.” The same is true in this next verse.
Deuteronomy 1:1a (NIV)
These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the desert east of the Jordan…
Now, we will see who His chosen people were in the context of Deuteronomy.
Deuteronomy 7:6 (NIV)
For you are a people holy to the LORD [Yahweh] your God. The LORD [Yahweh] your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.
Again, this does not read, “Jews!” Deuteronomy is to Israel. Not Jews. Because of men like Victor Paul Wierwille, E. W. Bullinger, and many others, many Christians believe the entire Bible is written to Jews, Greeks [Gentiles], or the church of God [Christians]. That is true of the Christian Scriptures [New Testament is what most refer to it as, but we do not], but not the Hebrew Scriptures [Most call it the Old Testament]. Here is a verse that has caused the problem, but we need to remember this is written to Christians.
1 Corinthians 10:32 (NIV)
Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks [Gentiles] or the church of God—
That was not true in the Hebrew Scriptures, because at that time it was Gentiles, Israel, and Judah.
hen Jesus was here, the Jews rejected him, and today we Christians are God’s chosen people. We established that Paul penned every book from Romans through Hebrews in earlier articles, but sometimes Paul had help. All were written by revelation from Jesus Christ, and are written to Christians. I choosing Colossians on this one, because it shows you in verse 1:2 it was written to us Christians. It reads, “To the holy and faithful brothers in Christ….” Then in chapter 3 it reads:
Colossians 3:12 (NIV)
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
This goes along with what was spoken by James in Acts 15.
Acts 15:14 (NIV)
Simon [Peter] has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself.
God took from the Gentiles a people for Himself! So, these two verses [and others] show today that we are God’s chosen people!
The Big Picture of the Gentiles, Israel and Judah in the Hebrew Scriptures
The man and woman in the Garden of Eden were Gentiles. Noah, his wife, his sons, and their wives were all Gentiles. That takes us through the first 1,656 years of the Bible. There was nothing but Gentiles in the Bible all the way up to Abram. Later, God changed his name to Abraham. Abraham originally came from Hebron. Later, those from Hebron were referred to as Hebrews. This does not make them Jews, or Israelites, but it would make him a Hebrew. Abraham, his son Isaac, and Isaac’s son Jacob [who became Israel the person, because God changed his name too] were ALL Gentiles! Israel the man had twelve sons, and some daughters, who were all Gentiles. If I tried to put down when all these events took place this would become a book. So, if you want to know more, read Genesis through Numbers. One of Israel’s sons named Joseph, was sold into slavery by his brothers [Gen. 37:12 – 36], and while he was in Egypt he rose in power to be the second most important person in the nation under Pharaoh the king of Egypt [Gen. 41:41 – 57]. This happened because Pharaoh had a dream, and Joseph interpreted the dream [Gen. 41:1 – 40]. This is what got Joseph his power. The dream covered fourteen years of time, and seven of those years were of a time of plenty, and the other seven were a time of famine. During the years of famine, Joseph’s family came to Egypt to buy food, and eventually, his entire family moved there [Gen. Chapter 42 through 46]. After Joseph died, all of the people of the family of Israel went into slavery. After 350 years of slavery, Moses was born [Exod. 2]. When Moses was 40 years old he saw an Egyptian being cruel to an Israelite, and fought with him, and killed him [Exod. 2:11 and 12]. After a confrontation with some Israelites that saw what he had done, he left Egypt, and went to Midian for 40 years [Exod. 2:15 – 25]. Long story short, God spoke to him through a burning bush, and gave him a mission to go free the Israelites [not Jews] from the king of Egypt [Exod. 3:1– 21]. There were seven plagues [Exod. 6:14 – 11:10], and the king of Egypt then freed the Israelites [Exod. 12:31ff]. Look at this next verse, as it will blow your mind!
Exodus 12:40 and 41 (NIV)
40 Now the length of time the Israelite people [again, not Jews] lived in Egypt was 430 years. 41 At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD’s [Yahweh] divisions [referring to the twelve tribes of Israel] left Egypt.
WOW! From the time Israel [the person] and his family [all 66 of them, Gen. 46:26] went to Egypt, to the very day, they left Egypt was exactly 430 years. God’s timing is so amazing!
Moses was now 80 years old when they left Egypt. They wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, while Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, and they also built the Tent of Meeting. The Tent of Meeting was where God met face to face with Moses, and Joshua [Deut. 31:14] later on, but that leads to Joshua taking over when Moses dies. During this time, while Moses was writing the book of Exodus, God made them the nation of Israel [they were a community, or house before a nation, see below], which he promised they would have a land for themselves. Jacob [who became Israel] told Joseph:
Genesis 48:3 and 4 (NIV)
3 Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and there he blessed me 4 and said to me, ‘I am going to make you fruitful and will increase your numbers. I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.’
Here is one of several verses where they are referred to as the house of Israel during the time they were a community.
Exodus 40:38 (NIV)
So the cloud of the LORD [Yahweh] was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels.
See what is said here about what happened when Israel and Judah split.
1 Kings 12:21 (NIV)
When Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he mustered the whole house of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin—a hundred and eighty thousand fighting men—to make war against the house of Israel and to regain the kingdom for Rehoboam son of Solomon.
That was stopped by Yahweh so that there was no war. The house of Israel is always, as far as I have studied, refers to Israel as a community, or nation.
Right before God gave Israel the Ten Commandment in Exodus 20, God told Israel [not Judah as a separate nation] they would become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. See below that Yahweh spoke these words to Moses!
Exodus 19:5 and 6 (NIV)
5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, 6 you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites [not Jews or Judah].”
They go the land later, under Joshua, which we will see. A bunch of things happened, but you will have to go to Scripture, and read that for yourselves. Joshua became the next spokesman for God when Moses died. Under Joshua’s instruction, the Israelites conquered most of Canaan, which became the nation of Israel. Now folks, you can go back and read all of this for yourselves, just like above with the record of Exodus, they were called ISRAELITES, NOT JEWS, OR JUDIANS.
Under Joshua’s guidance, they got rid of 31 kings [Josh. 12:6 – 24], but they did not get rid of all the giants [Nephilim], or David would not have had to fight Goliath over 500 years later, who was one of the Nephilim. Upon Joshua’s death, Israel went into the time of the Judges. This period of time was 450 years, and the people were still referred to as the Israelites! At the end of the 450 years, Samuel was the last Judge [his sons claimed to be Yahweh’s Judges, but were not, and were evil]. God reluctantly made Saul the first king of Israel [1 Sam. 9]. The second king was David [1 Sam. 16, 2 Sam. 2; and Chapter 5], and his son Solomon was the third king [1 Kings 1:28ff]. Solomon had a son named Rehoboam, and he became the fourth king of Israel [1 Kings 11:41 – 12:1]. We cannot cover every detail, but we are going to cover what is needed. The people of Israel asked a man named Jeroboam to go to Rehoboam and ask him how he was going to rule. The reason for this is they only had three kings to go by at that time, and each one was different. Saul was terrible! David though he had made mistakes, he then became a man after God’s own heart. Then Solomon taxed the people heavily to build the palace, the Temple, and by the number of wives he had, he took more than his fair share of the women also! So, the people wanted to know how Rehoboam was going to rule. Rehoboam told Jeroboam to come back in three days for an answer. First, Rehoboam went to his father’s advisors, and asked them what they thought he should do, and they said that he should rule the nation like David. Rehoboam did not like that answer, and so he went to the friends of his youth, which is never a good idea. After he talked to them, this is what he told Jeroboam:
1 Kings 12:11 (NIV)
My father laid on you a heavy yoke; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.’”
This was not what Jeroboam wanted to hear, so, the people made him king of Israel, and Rehoboam made himself the king of Judah! Rehoboam took all of the tribe of Judah, the the Levites, and the tribe of Benjamin. This made Jeroboam have all the rest of the tribes of Israel. This is where they became two nations! Before we go any farther, God never planned a kingdom of Judah; this is totally a manmade nation!
I want to throw this your way, because on our website is this article, “I Am Confused About Trying to Live By the Whole Bible, Can You Help Me?” It explains much of this issue of the Gentiles, Israel, and Judah. Sure, there are many parts written to the Jews, but many parts are to Israel. Everything from Genesis is to, or about Gentiles, until Jacob [Israel] starts having children. At the beginning, they were a family of Gentiles. They became a community in Genesis 48:3 and 4. Israel became a nation in Exodus 19:5 and 6. Judah became a nation of a sort under David for a very short time in 2 Samuel 2. He [David] united the entire nation with all the tribes in 2 Samuel 5. They were one nation until the split of Judah as a nation [under Rehoboam], and Israel as a separate nation [under Jeroboam] in [1 Kings 12]. Here is where things get difficult, and sadly, at this point neither nation was on the Word. From here, sections of 1 and 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles Chapter 10 through Chapter 36 are to the king of either Israel or the king of Judah.
We will continue where we have been going after I show you a couple things. The Book of Job is before Israel and Judah and was for all people [ALL Gentiles at that time]. Books in the Bible: Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Psalm, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon are for and about Israel. Judah as a nation did not exist yet. Books written after the split are usually to Judah. Books in the Bible: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Daniel are clearly to Judah. I have worked it, but have not yet written [except for notes] who all the Hebrew Scriptures are written to. It is on my list to do. Now back to where we were.
Israel was conquered by Assyria, and never returned to the land. This took place when Hoshea was King of Israel; he was their last king. Look at this record. Now please remember, it was never the will of God for the nations of Israel and of Judah to ever divide and become separate nations. Yahweh is referred to as the God of Israel 199 times from Exodus 5:1 to Luke 1:68, and NEVER the God of Judah, nor the God of the Jews. From the split there were 20 kings in Judah, until they were carried off by Babylon. Israel also had 20 kings, from the split until they were carried off by Assyria, which was a shorter time. Each bad king, “did evil in the eyes of the LORD [Yahweh],” never just says in the eyes of God, it always says Yahweh, which is God’s Name. Below is about three kings; King Hezekiah of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria. Interestingly, Assyria attacked Samaria, which represented the capital of the nation of Israel, and had men from ten tribes of Israel. This happened because of what verse 12 below says! Here Judah was the easiest target, as it was much smaller, having the Judean’s, Levites, and members of the tribe of Benjamin. Judah was doing the Word, and that protected them.
2 Kings 18:9 – 12 (NIV)
9 In King Hezekiah’s fourth year, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria marched against Samaria [Samaria was the capital of Israel after the split] and laid siege to it. 10 At the end of three years the Assyrians took it. So Samaria was captured in Hezekiah’s sixth year, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel. 11 The king of Assyria deported Israel to Assyria and settled them in Halah, in Gozan on the Habor River and in towns of the Medes. 12 This happened because they had not obeyed the LORD [Yahweh] their God, but had violated his covenant—all that Moses the servant of the LORD [Yahweh] commanded. They neither listened to the commands nor carried them out.
I want you to see why Israel was more of God than you know. He told Israel the community [during the 40 years of wandering], not Judah, except as part of Israel. Look at these verses about the land, which will become Israel, and the Jubilee year.
Leviticus 25:1 and 2; 23 (NIV)
1 The LORD [Yahweh] said to Moses on Mount Sinai, 2 “Speak to the Israelites [not Judah, or Jews] and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you, the land itself must observe a sabbath to the LORD [Yahweh]. 23 “‘The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine [context of chapter is Yahweh] and you are but aliens and my tenants.
So, the land of Israel belongs to God, and that, as far as I can see, will never change. People, several kings of Judah turned back to God, and King Hezekiah was one of them. Look at these verses.
2 Kings 18:1 – 4 (NIV)
1 In the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Hezekiah son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. 2 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah. 3 He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD [Yahweh], just as his father David had done. 4 He removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan.)[this was not incense burnt to God].
So, many kings of Judah did evil in the eyes of Yahweh, but not Hezekiah, but this next verse is pure gold.
2 Kings 18:5 (NIV)
Hezekiah trusted in the LORD [Yahweh], the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him.
The king of Judah, trust who? Yahweh is the God of Israel, also it never says the God of Judah, or of the Jews. This is an important point, which I have said before. Without a scope of the entire Bible you will never see Israel as you should. The Jews have been elevated way too high. I have found several places in teachings of former colleagues and even though what is on the page in Scripture says Israel, they are saying, “Jews.” One man read Israel, yet turned around and stated, “See, the Jews are God’s chosen people.” This brother told me I owed God an apology for what I am teaching, but what about him, after reading, “Israel,” yet stating, “Jews?” I think these people are just teaching what they were taught. Our God looks on the heart, and understands us. So, if we make a mistake, yet our heart is pure, He knows that. We just need to be constantly examining the Scriptures to make sure we are teaching is Truth. Again, God did not plan on one tribe ever being elevated to nationhood. I rarely argue what I believe, but one man I worked with knows this Truth, yet refuses to teach it. People, I am not an anti-Semite! I am just teaching what I see, and it is the Word of God and some insights from study. This topic needs to be a book, but I do not have the time to write it.
Israel is the focal point for understanding so much of this topic. When we read Israel in the Bible it can be speaking of the man, family, community, house, nation, and one very important one, the land [and sometimes those in it]. This will come up later.
As we read before in 2 Kings 18:1 – 4, during the reign of Hezekiah King of Judah, the nation of Israel was conquered by the Assyrians, and carried off, and never to return. Something you need to know is when an army conquers a nation, back then; they would leave a remnant behind of people to raise crops for the conquering army, and many times a small contingent of soldiers to oversee the work. We are sure, historically, that this happened in Israel. After Hezekiah there were only seven more kings before Nebuchadnezzer conquered Judah for the third and final time [2 Kings Chapters 23 – 25]. Jeremiah was the last real prophet in Judah, and told the people they would be slaves for seventy years. See these verses below.
Jeremiah 25:11 and 12 (NIV)
11 This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. 12 “But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,” declares the LORD [Yahweh], “and will make it desolate forever.
Before they get carried off, the land was called, “the land of milk and honey,” because it had grass and flowers. In other words, grass to feed the cattle, goats, etc., and flowers for the bees, to produce honey. Verse eleven says, “This whole country will become a desolate wasteland,” as God’s grace will be lifted from it. Also, notice what verse twelve says about the land of Babylon, and Yahweh, “…will make it desolate forever.” This contradicts what several famous Theologians say, “the Babylon of Revelation will be where Babylon was in the past!” If the Bible states He, “…will make it desolate forever,” I do not believe Babylon will ever become great again, if FOREVER means what I think it means. This agrees with what I wrote before in Part Four, where I cover Babylon in the Book of Revelation must be the U.S.A.
We know there were several hundred thousand in Judah that went into captivity, there were 180,000 fighting men, and the women and children outnumbered the fighting men. We know they were freed, and Daniel was their leader after 68 years. Then under Ezra, they returned as Jeremiah said, seventy years later, but sadly only 42,360 people returned. See verses below.
Ezra 2:64 – 67 (NIV)
64 The whole company numbered 42,360, 65 besides their 7,337 menservants and maidservants; and they also had 200 men and women singers. 66 They had 736 horses, 245 mules, 67 435 camels and 6,720 donkeys.
They had a bunch of gold, and silver too. They settled in towns, but were there to rebuild the Temple. The people in the area were not happy that they were rebuilding the Temple. So, Nehemiah took on the job of rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, for the protection of the people, and the temple too. In the context of Nehemiah, they made the city about a third of its original size, but made the wall higher. Most moved into the city while they rebuilt the wall, and families were responsible for sections of the wall. Nehemiah became governor, and Ezra priest, and scribe. As you read through, they were called Israelites, and Jews. In Ezra, was the first time they were called Jews [8 times], but they were also called Israelites [7 times]. In Nehemiah, the same thing occurred calling them Jews [6 times], and Israelites [11 times]. In the rest of the Hebrew Scriptures they were called Jews 47 times in Ester; Jews 11 times in Jeremiah; and Jews 2 times in Daniel. The word Israelite, and Israelites are used 710 times in the Hebrew Scriptures, and no group ever were called Jews until Ezra, and then the term was not used all that much compared to Israel, and Israelites. So, Israel comes out as the star of the show in much of the Hebrew Scriptures. Sadly, the Jews get top billing in people’s minds. We see from the Hebrew Scriptures that much of it, once it switches from Gentiles, is about Israel. The Jews and Judah only entered the picture after getting off the Word of God. I KNOW the Bible is correct, and Israel was God’s chosen people, BUT now we Christians are.
After the Jews rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem, and started multiplying, they started moving out of the city, and into the land of Judah. Historically, any time a land was conquered, like both Judah and Israel, the conquering army would leave a remnant of the people behind to grow crops for the conquering army. They would sometimes even leave a small contingent of soldiers around to be overseers. No one knows which thing happened, but we know that eventually the Jews moved out to the land of Israel. I believe that because the Samaritans at the time of Christ were part Gentile, it was from inter–marrying with their captors, or at least having babies by them. V.P.W. called those living there were half–Jews, but if anything, in Samaria they would be half–Israelites. I cannot find anything in the Bible which ever refers to them as half–Jews! This shows how much thinking about, “the Jews,” has touched all our lives, and NOT in a good way! I do not have the time to show everything, but from Ezra and Nehemiah, and throughout the Hebrew Scriptures [the ones that are to Judah], the Gospels, and until 70 A.D., most of the time when Israel is mentioned, it is referring to the land. That only makes it a place that belongs to God, and not the kingdom of Israel.
So, tell me why almost every Christian group is still pushing the Jews today [or modern Israel], as God’s chosen people? We are not finished yet, and will now shift to the Christian Scriptures. This will play in the understanding of upcoming events scripturally.
Because of information that will come up, you need to understand that all that you call the New Testament [we call Christian Scriptures] is for and to us Christians. I was taught that the Gospels and the book of Revelation are to the Jews, but let us discuss this please. Our God is very smart and would not do that. Look at it this way, if Allah wanted the Muslims to read five new books added to the Koran, would he get Jewish Prophets to write them? NO! Why? Because they dislike the Jews very much, and think if you are not Islam you are an infidel. Yet we are to believe the revelation given to write five certain books in the Bible [the Gospels and Revelation] were written by Christian Prophets, and are to the Jews. I do not think so! I could explain why that is not true for all five, but let us just look at Matthew, a Christian and a disciple of Christ, who had been a tax collector for the Romans to the Jews. Yet there are verses where, “sinners, and Tax Collectors,” are put in the same sentence together. Yet we are to think the Jews will listen to him! Yeah sure, and a Muslim will listen to a Jewish Prophets too! Sorry, but that is not worthy of arguing about. Those books are for us Christians to know about the life and times of Jesus the Messiah! The book of Revelation is to give Christians an understanding of coming events that we will see, or be involved in.
Many times, in the Christian Scriptures it is easy to see it is the, “land of Israel,” not “land of Judah [Jews].” Remember, everything in the Christian Scriptures was many years after the Kingdom of Israel was carried off by Assyria. Look at these verses.
Matthew 2:20 and 21 (NIV)
20 and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.” 21 So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.
They were referring to God as, “the God of Israel, not of “Judah.” Look at these verses in the Christian Scriptures.
Matthew 15:31 (NIV)
The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.
Luke 1:68 (NIV)
“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.
The people are referred to as, “the people of Israel,” meaning the, “Land,” not the “kingdom.”
Matthew 27:9 (NIV)
Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel,
Luke 1:16 (NIV)
Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God.
Acts 4:10 (NIV)
then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
So, you may be asking, how I can say it is not the, “kingdom of Israel?” But you are saying it is the, “Land! Very simple! What was the last question the disciples, the Twelve, the Apostles asked Jesus Christ before he Ascended? Let us see!
Acts 1:6 (NIV)
So when they [his disciples, the Twelve, the Apostles] met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
Judah is only mentioned 9 times in the Christian Scriptures, while Jew, or Jews is used around 228 times. This is not surprising, because Paul wrote that they were some of them living then [and now].
1 Corinthians 10:32 (NIV)
Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God [Another term for Christians]—
There is nothing in the Bible, either in the Hebrew or Christian Scriptures, to elevate the Jews to God’s chosen people. There is nothing that says we live in a Judeo/Christian society. There is nothing in the Bible which says they were anything but a kingdom set up by a man, for the wrong reasons. As we saw above in Acts 1:6, even the Apostles wanted Christ to restore the kingdom to Israel. Historically, the Romans appointed Herod as king over the land of Israel in 40 B.C. We all know he was not appointed by God, and was evil. The Bible is clear on where the men of this land stand in the eyes of our Lord. Looks at this verse below, as Peter calls them Jews.
Acts 2:14 (NIV)
Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
Later, Peter stated this about those people he was speaking to! Look at these verses.
Acts 2:23 (NIV)
This man [Jesus] was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
Acts 2:36 (NIV)
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
Jesus was not born Lord and Christ, and it is a long teaching, too long for here. If you would like to read my article, “When Did Jesus Become Lord and Christ?” send me an email at email@example.com and I will send you a link to it. From verse 2 above, the Jews put Jesus to death with the help of wicked men [verse 23], and in verse 36 we see all those in the land of Israel crucified the man God had made Lord and Christ. So, how did they ever get elevated to God’s chosen people by almost every Christian in the world? Yet, even I used their Feasts as a reference for the timing of the Rapture [Wrongly I will say]. Chuck Norris, who I enjoy as an actor, pushes the Jews as God’s chosen people. Millions of dollars are collected annually for them by churches. Also, you will not believe the number of Christian teachers using the modern Israel as God’s chosen people, and are using everything about them and Israel as a way to predict the Rapture [the Jubilee, late Israel barley harvest, certain Jewish conferences, the 1967 Six Day War, and more]. Folks, not one of those things will help us see when the Rapture will come. Sorry, I feel it is wrong to always name names, but so many great Christian leaders are promoting Israel, and they should not.
There are many verses about the fact that the Jews rejected Jesus. Here are two, which stand out to me.
Mark 8:31 (NIV)
He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
Luke 9:22 (NIV)
And he said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”
This next verse many say is speaking of the kingdom of Israel, but that is not true. Isaiah was the second to last prophet of Judah before their captivity, but this verse is quoted from Romans. What was said several times by Isaiah in the Hebrew Scriptures is now repeated in the Christian Scriptures. He stated, “Only the remnant will be saved.”
Romans 9:27 (NIV)
Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved.
The context of the entire chapter of Romans 9 indicates not many will be saved out of those living in the land of Israel. As Mark and Luke above shows, many rejected Jesus, especially the top brass of the Jews.
If you study the Law, you will find the Jubilee in the last four chapters of Leviticus, especially 25 and 27. They were to celebrate it if they stood on the Word for 49 years straight, which they never did. You will not find one record of Israel ever celebrating a Jubilee! People, there is no record in the Bible where either Israel or Judah, ever stood on the Word for 49 years, so, they were never able to celebrate a Jubilee in the 50th year!
So, for the moment, let us jump to the present. Do you believe God used the godless United Nations to lead Israel back into their land? Were they, “the lost tribes of the tribes of Israel?” If they were, then why change your name from Israelites to Israelis? Can you show me one place where Israel and the Jews did not have Jerusalem as the capital [except during the split of the nations where Samaria became the capital under Jeroboam]? For the Judeans, Jerusalem was always their capital until 70 A.D., when they were destroyed by Rome! So, how did they pick Tel Aviv as their capital, and not give Jerusalem the title as capital, even though they took it from the Palestinians in the Six Day War in 1967 [50 years ago]? They did not change it to the capital until President Trump pushed it recently, and it is not recognized by the United Nations! What does the U. N. have to do with them making any city in their country the capital? Why are there people saying that because Israel took Jerusalem in 1967 that it would seem to make 2017 a Jubilee year? That is not true according to the standards of the Bible. I can go on, but I believe you should have my point by now. This Israel of today is not the Israel of God!
Remember the book, “Jesus Christ Our Passover,” by Victor Paul Wierwille? I am not making a footnote, but it is available from the Way International Bookstore online. In Appendix 3, titled: Jew and Judean, V. P. W. explains how the modern people of the nation of Israel are not Jews. For the most part, they are Khazars, who can trace their lineage to Western Russia, and are in no way, for the most part, of the linage of Judah, one of the sons of Jacob [Israel]. They can be traced back to the 3rd and 4th centuries. It is only six pages long, and you should read it. Every Christian should know that the Modern Israel is not of God. There are reputable books that prove this. One is footnoted in V. P. W.’s book above.
Some historians teach that they became stronger as a religious group, because of the Inquisition by the Roman Catholic Church in the 1200’s, and if they were Jews, they would not be persecuted, because they were God’s chosen people. Some of the Inquisitors believed that some became Jews to escape persecution by the Catholics, but could never prove it. Many believe, as I do, that this is most likely where this, so called, “chosen people,” term came from, because the Roman Catholic Church called them that. I have read many books, and I am not denying that they were persecuted by the Germans during World War 2, but I feel many others suffered their same fate from Nazi, Germany. Folks, they are not God’s chosen people, and never were or have been, according to Scriptures.
One more thing about the Jews, and remember, I am not against the nation of Israel, but that I am pro God’s Word. We see from the Sun, Moon, and Stars that the Lord will return soon. If he does, how can things change so drastically to make what I am about to show you, from the Bible, come true? Look at these verses and I could teach more from the context.
Revelation 2:8 and 9 (NIV)
8 “To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. 9 I know your afflictions and your poverty—yet you are rich! I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan [Should read, the Adversary, and too long to explain now].
In the Greek, Latin, and Aramaic it reads, “I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of the Adversary.” How can this be if they are of God today? How can this happen if it is not already happening, in the time between now and the Rapture? How? Because they are not of God today! Folks, this is Chapter 2 of Revelation! This is at the very beginning of the Tribulation. Hey! Look at the bolded words in Chapter 3.
Revelation 3:7 – 9 (NIV)
7 “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan [the Adversary], who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.
So, from what we will see, the Rapture is very soon, and to me, it looks like from these two verses [twice establishes, numbers in Scriptures] that a false group of Jews [2:9] says, “…who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of the Adversary,” and [3:9] says, “…who are of the synagogue of the Adversary, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars…” are going to be trouble. The Scriptures said they say they are Jews and are not [verse 2:9], and claim to be Jews though they are not [verse 3:9], but are liars, so they exist then, but I say they exist now! With all that happens, and in the short time it will happen in, no new group will pop up, and fill that position. It is some of those who are already here claiming to be Jews today! Folks, there are some real Jews out there, but I do not feel the majority are real, and I think Victor Wierwille was right in his book that we talked about above.
We will stop for now, and see you in Part Twelve, where we will continue review, and get into what made me, and others felt, that September 23, 2017, was the day of the event! God bless you, and see you in the air!
