Signs in the Sun, Moon, and Stars, Part Seven
By Bob Maffit
God bless you all in Jesus name! Please forgive me for not answering the many questions that have been sent my way. With the shortness of time, and the many comments, I have not been able to get to them. I was not even going to write this article, but feel I must.
There are those, who run ministries, who know I am teaching Truth, yet refuse to share what I am teaching. Sadly, what I wrote in, “Part Four,” about the U.S.A. has them afraid of losing their 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status. To that I say, “We should obey God rather than men [men made the stupid rules].” Those who have not read these (as well as those that have), yet who have made nasty comments, please understand this, if I am correct, you are mocking God, not me. If I am wrong, we will all know soon, and I will have to face that. If I am right, and you would not even read these articles, I am afraid this is something Christ will address with you in the future.
I did not run this through my normal editorial process, as I have not had time. If I did, you may never get to read this. I will address a few issues thrown at me.
I stated in, “Part Five,” the following:
Many have taught, I, myself included, that we get the fullness of the holy spirit at the Gathering Together [Rapture], when we get the new bodies. The same is true, I contend, with all our son-ship rights, righteousness, sanctification, redemption, justification, AND THE NEW BIRTH! We will get the fullness of them when the Body is, “born,” after the last trump!
I was asked to elaborate on why I feel this way. Simply put, it is the word, “seed,” in the Christian Scriptures. “Seed,” is only the beginning of anything which grows, not the full grown thing! Therefore not the fullness! Let us look at some Bible.
1 Peter 1:23 (NIV)
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable [seed], through the living and enduring word of God.
I added the word, “seed,” after the word, “imperishable,” for emphasis, but it is implied in the text. We have, “…been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable [seed].…” Folks, no matter how you look at it, we are born again of seed! Seed is not the fullness of the plant, or anything else that grows. If I plant an apple seed, will I have apples tomorrow? No! Same is true with people, animals, or anything which grows. I contend a seed is planted in us, when we confess Romans 10: 9 and 10 [covered in Part Six]. Then it grows to maturity, and we will see the fullness of it at the Rapture when we receive the new body. Do not try to tell me God does not know the difference between a seed and a mature plant, or I will show you other verses in the Bible. I could cover more, but that should answer your questions.
Sorry, but I have more to add, because of questions. My brothers and sisters, God is not stupid, and I know you may know that, but many still think the record in Revelations 12:5 is talking about the Messiah. So, let us again go to the Bible. Trust me on where we are going! We at, “Living Love with Jesus,” believe, “All Scripture is God breathed.”
2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
We believe that God gave the Scriptures to Jesus, who then gave them by revelation to Christian Prophets, who penned what is in the Christian Scriptures [Matthew through Revelation]! See these verses!
Galatians 1:11 and 12 (NIV)
11 I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
So, we believe every man who penned any part of the Christian Scriptures, got what they penned by revelation from Jesus Christ! So now, the written Word was God breathed to Jesus, who then by means of the gift of holy spirit gave it to the men who penned what we read and call the Christian Scriptures! With this in mind, we will now look a little deeper at, “Ascension [ascend, ascended, etc.],” and, “caught up [Raptured, Rapture, Gathered Together].” These words are NOT used interchangeably throughout the Christian Scriptures.
Let us look at ascended, first. This next verse should make people think about their belief that everyone who dies goes to heaven. I explain about death on our website. I am using three places in the Gospel of John, because he penned John, Revelation, and 1, 2, and 3 John. We will see he knew the difference between, “ascended,” and, “caught up.”
John 3:13 (NASB)
“And no one has ascended [anabaino] into heaven, but He [Jesus] who descended from heaven, even the Son of Man [Jesus].
The word, “ascended,” is the English transliteration of the Greek, “anabaino.” I used my NASB [New American Standard Bible 1977] and looked at the usage of this word [how they translated it. The “X” means time, or times]: arise(1X), ascend(2X), ascended(7X), ascending(4X), came up(6X), climbed up(1X), climbs up(1X),come up(4X), comes up(2X), coming up(3X), entered(2X), go up(6X), goes up(1X), going up(6X), gone up(3X), got up(2X), grew up(1X),grows up(1X), rises up(1X), started on our way up(1X), went up(26X). NEVER is it translated, “caught up,” “Gathered Together,” or “Raptured.” Remember here that John penned this book above! Here is another verse he did.
John 20:17 (NASB)
Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended [anabaino] to the Father; but go to My brethren, and say to them, ‘I ascend [anabaino] to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’”
This same word, “anabaino,” is used throughout the Christian Scriptures. I will show you a few more.
Acts 2:34 (NASB)
“For it was not David who ascended [anabaino] into heaven, but he himself says: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,
Another verse showing people are not in heaven. We have to know the Bible, to know the Truth. Most Christians think that all the prophets of old are in heaven, even though the Bible does not say that. Again, this word anabaino is used for ascended! Ascended is used three times in Ephesians 4, and every time it is anabaino.
Ephesians 4:8 (NASB)
Therefore it says, “When He [Jesus] ascended [anabaino] on high, He led captive a host of captives, And He gave gifts to men.”
This word anabaino is always used speaking of Christ, but there is another word used when speaking of us. Let us look at it!
1 Thessalonians 4:17 (NASB)
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up [harpazo] together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Please do not add the words, “in heaven,” to the end of this verse. Many do, and say that we will be forever in heaven with the Lord. Sadly, they fail to think this through. Jesus is now Lord, because God made him so in Acts 2:36! He comes to earth in the Book of Revelation, and never goes back [Hey! We come with him]! After that, he sets up his Kingdom and rules one thousand years, and then turns over the reign to God and sets up the Everlasting Kingdom, the final Paradise. Remember this verse:
1 Corinthians 15:28 (NASB)
And when all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, that God may be all in all.
Sorry, but that needed to be addressed. Now back to 1 Thessalonians 4:17 above. Every minister I know of, and that is many, teaches that verse is about the return of Christ. This is not his second coming, which is after the Tribulation; this is where we Christians are “caught up,” “Raptured,” or, “Gathered Together!” Those words are referring to us Christians and it is, “harpazo.” It is always dealing with Christians in every usage in the Bible. Yet Scholars and many Christians refuse to believe that when it is in the Book of Revelation. The same God, breathed what was given by Jesus Christ, who gave it by revelation to Christian Prophets to pen what we call the Christian Scriptures. So, knowing where the Bible comes from, then we should see that they know what words They are using. God and Jesus knew the difference between, “ascended [anabaino],” and, “caught up [harpazo].” We are not going to, “ascend,” as Christ was, we will be, “caught up,” which is never used referring to the Messiah!
Revelation 12:5 (NASB)
And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up [harpazo] to God and to His throne.
Re-read the last page of, “Part Five,” and the first page of, “Part Six,” for what I explained before about, “caught up [harpazo],” so I do not have to repeat it.
About a third of the way into, “Part Four,” I talked about numbers in Scripture. I spoke of the number four. I was taught it was, “God dealing with man, on the level of the senses.” Look it up in any concordance and you will see, “harpazo,” is only used, “four,” times in the Bible! There are no coincidences with God! He had a reason for only using it four times, and it was, “to deal with man on the level of the senses!” So, I insist that it is the, “Body,” of Christ, us, who will be, “caught up!”
To finish, I want to talk about when the Adversary is thrown into the Abyss, and all his minions are thrown in as well, but there is no mention of his minions being released, or destroyed. This is amazing to me that after people living in peace and justice for a thousand years, that the Adversary (and him alone, without his minions!) could get an army, “…In number they are like the sand on the seashore.”
Revelation 20:7 and 8 (NIV)
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.
That is so amazing that that many could do that. Sadly, we are not like God, Who my Bible says, “He looks on the heart.” Remember, our hearts are not what we should listen to! We need to follow the written Word in our minds, revelation from Jesus, and the stars! Remember these verses, which I did not write!
Proverbs 28:26 (KJV)
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV)
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I think there will be many people with bad hearts, who do not want to give up their old ways, religions, lifestyles, and more. God looks on the heart, and He will know. I feel the Adversary is released to weed these people out, giving God, and Jesus the Lamb of God, a clean slate to start over with in the, “Paradise Regained.” Watch what happens next!
Revelation 20:10a (KJV)
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are….
I cut the end of the verse rather than teach the entire record, because it is translated wrong. Fire is not a preservative, so, no one will burn forever. First here, “Devil,” is singular, and there is no mention of the demons [or bad angels]. He was thrown in the lake of fire, and in other places in the Bible it tells us his end. Read Ezekiel 28:13 ff about Lucifer [the Serpent], who was with God, the man, and woman in the garden. Look at what it says that happens to him!
Ezekiel 28:18 (NIV)
By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching.
Too many times people pull verses out of context, and don’t take the time to look at the scope of the entire Bible, before making a leap to an answer. I have now answered the main questions that have come my way, but ask that you please prayerfully consider what I am teaching.
I close with begging you to pray for our country, and yes, I know its end, but I do not want to live in a world gone mad. Our Enemy wants to kill, steal, and destroy, and I now feel he will try to cover the Rapture with a civil war, a war with North Korea, or a World War. We must pray against any, or all of these possibilities.
God’s richest blessings on you and yours, through Christ Jesus our Lord, and my Boss!
Sincerely, Bob Maffit
ADDED NOTE: It has been announced that there will be a research guy having a teaching disproving my articles on September 11th at 8 P.M. He has publicly mocked me, and that the Revelation 12 sign is wrong, as well as what I said in, “Part Four,” about the U.S.A. I say this again, if I am right, he is not mocking me, but God and His Son! Jesus asked Paul why he was persecuting him [Jesus], when from our perspective; it was people Paul was persecuting! I feel this holds true here as well.
